Two 16.38 kW grid-tie solar power systems were recently installed on adjacent building towers in downtown
Vancouver – both properties owned by the Province of British Columbia. The Province is leading by example in its support of Premier Gordon Campbell’s Climate Action Plan, which calls for a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by at least 33 per cent below 2007 levels by 2020 – the most aggressive reduction target in North America.

A 16 kW solar power system has been installed on the roof of each structure via a tilted steel superstructure. The power performance of the system will be monitored by a central building control system. It is estimated that the combined systems will generate 16 megawatts of power annually.
