Carmanah's Solar LED Aviation Lighting Division has received an order to supply Dover Air Force Base in Delaware with A704-5 solar-powered airfield lights and accessories.
The airfield lights can be programmed to switch between visible and infrared output, and controlled from the air traffic control tower, to enable pilots to simulate theater conditions in overt and covert training modes.
Featuring a compact, self-contained design and convenient carrying handle, the A704-5 is ideal for temporary, permanent and semi-permanent airfield lighting applications.
Developed for civil and defense use, the A704-5 airfield lighting system has been field proven to operate in some of the most demanding environmental conditions on earth. More than 30 airfields on five continents use the A704-5 system, with all US Forces Air Commands operating the A704-5 wireless aviation light for covert and overt operations.
The A704-5 wireless control provides base personnel with a control range of up to 2.5 miles (four kilometers), and the ability to control any number of A704-5 airfield lighting fixtures from the ground or the air (ARCAL).
Carmanah's A704-5 airfield lights install and relocate easily with no trenching, cabling or wiring. Operating free from the electrical grid, and requiring no maintenance for up to five years, Carmanah's airfield lighting solutions significantly reduce airport operation and maintenance costs, in fact, Carmanah solutions can often be installed for approximately 1/10th the cost of a comparable hardwired system.
