Carmanah Supplies Solar-Powered LED Marking Lights to Taiwan High-Speed Rail Corporation

Friday, January 6, 2006

Carmanah has recently been contracted to supply 550 solar-powered LED lights, in conjunction with C.T Tagahashi & Company of Seattle Washington, to the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp (THSRC). Carmanah's Model 601 solar LED blue lights will be installed to mark various emergency telephone and exit locations on a new bullet rail system linking Taipei and the southern City of Kaohsiung.

The high-speed rail project is one of the largest railway systems in the world and combines some of the most advanced technology available. Carmanah's solar-powered LED lighting technology was selected based on its proven ability to survive extended exposure to varying environments, such as shock and heavy vibration. Because Carmanah's lights are solar-powered, they will continue to operate flawlessly in the event of any emergency, such as a power outage, to mark the location of emergency exits with telephones.
