Carmanah has recently supplied the Regional Municipality of York, ON, with its R247C solar LED 24-hour flashers. These units will be installed over existing stop signs and warning signs throughout the Greater Toronto area, including Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughn and Newmarket as a means of cost-effectively improving roadway safety.

Fast installation time and savings in installation and operating costs were the primary reasons the municipality selected Carmanah’s solar LED lighting technology. The self-contained compact of the design of the Company’s R247C dramatically reduces installation time compared to traditional hardwired systems. The entire unit mounts on 2″ square or 2 1/2″ round post, and can be installed in minutes to existing signposts in the field.

In addition to these solar LED flashers in the Regional Municipality of York, Carmanah also has more than 400 solar LED-illuminated transit shelters installed in the Mississauga and Toronto regions of Ontario.

Carmanah manufactures compact solar flashing beacons for crosswalks, school zones, and 24-hour applications, and LED illuminated street-name signs and regulatory signs. More than 250,000 installations worldwide attest to the operational benefits and field-proven reliability of Carmanah’s technology.
