Panama Canal Outfitted with Carmanah Obstruction Lights for Bridge Overpass

Thursday, July 24, 2003

The Panama Civil Aviation authority granted regulatory approval to install 35 units of Carmanah's Model 601 for obstruction marking light on a bridge overpass above the Panama Canal. Carmanah provided the units at less than 1/10th the cost of conventional hard wired systems for a construction project that will take place over the next year in an area of high air traffic.

The Panama Canal is one of the busiest shipping routes in the world. Recent installations of the Carmanah 700 and 600 series obstruction models have provided excellent aircraft warning lights while requiring no infrastructure for permanent and temporary installation.

Carmanah's lights are installed in more than 110 countries worldwide, including Panama, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Crete, Cyprus, Jordan, Canada, USA, Mexico, Poland, Netherlands, Kuwait, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Kazhakstan, Denmark, South Africa... International applications of Carmanah obstruction lights include wind mast structures, cranes & rigging booms, telecommunications towers, geographic landmarks, buildings and airport obstructions.
