Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group has received an order from the US Air Force (USAF) for 100 units of its Model A601 taxiway lights. These self-contained, solar LED units will be installed for taxiway edge lighting at the second busiest US Department of Defense airport in the Middle East.
This US Defence airport integrates Air Force, Army, Marine, coalition and civilian operations on a daily basis and supports more than 17,000 airframes per month. Powered infrastructure is minimal and/or unreliable, therefore the USAF selected Carmanah's solar-powered LED lights for their ease of deployment, reliability and their ability to operate autonomously.
The USAF has been using Carmanah's solar-powered LED aviation lights for US Defense and Coalition Forces operations for a number of years throughout the Middle East; the technology is ideal for all types of permanent, temporary and emergency airfield lighting applications.
