Carmanah’s Power Systems Group has received an order from a global manufacturer of GPS-based technology for 22 units of its proprietary MAPPS solar power systems.

Carmanah’s MAPPS solar power systems will power GPS equipment used for freeway bridge monitoring by the Washington Department of Transportation. They will be deployed along the Interstate 5 corridor to detect bridge movement and provide continuous input to a centralized data center.

About Carmanah’s MAPPS Solar Power Systems

Solar power is a safe and reliable solution to power remote systems, such as the vehicle monitoring equipment mentioned above. Carmanah’s stand-alone MAPPS solar power systems are the only integrated, turnkey systems currently available that have been specifically designed for remote industrial applications. In fact, MAPPS systems can even be approved for Class I, DIV. II hazardous locations.

Carmanah’s MAPPS systems are also an excellent power solution for the following applications:

  • Video surveillance
  • Homeland security
  • Pipeline monitors
  • Security Lighting
  • Remote Communications
  • Perimeter Security
  • Water Resource Security
  • Construction Sites
  • Motion Sensing
  • Emergency Calls

Thousands of MAPPS stand-alone solar power systems have been deployed worldwide over the past 15 years. They are field-proven to endure the extremely harsh environments found at many remote locations. As MAPPS systems are shipped as complete, easy-to-assemble kits, they can be installed quickly with minimal technical expertise.
