Carmanah’s Solar LED Lighting Group has been contracted by the Piarco International Airport, Trinidad & Tobago, to supply wirelessly-controlled, portable airfield lights. These solar LED lights will be used to illuminate a threshold and runway edge during construction on the airport’s main runway. Once construction is complete the lights will be repositioned for emergency airfield lighting purposes.
About the A704-5 Portable Airfield Light
Featuring a compact, self-contained design with a convenient carrying handle, Carmanah’s Model A704-5 lights are ideal for all types of portable airfield lighting applications. As they are entirely self-contained, they can be easily moved between locations and install in minutes without trenching, cabling or disruption to airfield operations. They can be set to turn on automatically at dusk and off at dawn, or be manually controlled using an optional wireless handheld controller (from the tower or an incoming aircraft, for example).
Carmanah’s A704-5 portable airfield lights are in use at more than 25 commercial and defense airfields worldwide for permanent, emergency and expedited lighting applications.
