Carmanah has received an order from the Nevada Department of Transportation (DOT) for 12 units of it R247C solar stop sign flasher. These units will be installed for trial purposes at selected rural areas of the state.
There have been numerous problems with drivers running stop signs at intersections in remote areas due to poor sign visibility. To improve intersection safety, the Nevada DOT was drawn to the ultra-compact, self-contained design of Carmanah’s Model R247C solar LED stop sign flasher. The R247C system powers an industry-standard LED traffic signal head and is the most advanced 24-hour solar flasher available.
As well, the Nevada DOT is able to perform the installation themselves and avoid the cost and typically intensive process of going to bid for contractor services. The R247C assembly includes the solar panel, battery, and electronics, all housed in a compact enclosure located above the traffic signal head and can be installed in minutes to existing signposts in the field.
