Carmanah’s LED Lighting Group recently supplied its R247C LED warning beacons to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) for road closure gates.

Carmanah’s solar-powered LED warning beacons were installed on an interstate mountain pass in Colorado to increase the visibility of road closer gates. To better fit the existing closure gate infrastructure, Carmanah worked closely with the CDOT to provide a custom-configured package with the solar engines mounted separately from the beacon signal heads. The CDOT’s new LED warning beacons are also switch activated, allowing CDOT operators to turn them on or off as conditions require.

Using Carmanah’s patented MICROSOURCE® Energy Management System (EMS), the R247C LED warning flashers automatically adjust their performance to ensure reliable performance during unpredictable winter conditions. Transportation authorities throughout the United States have chosen to use Carmanah’s solar-powered flashing beacons because of their reliability and durability. The beacons have been extensively field-proven in all types of weather as well as challenging environmental conditions – including several mountain locations.
