One of the UK’s largest and most successful retailers is using Carmanah technology to maximize parking-lot safety at its Brighton store location. The ASDA store in Brighton has equipped its parking lot with Carmanah solar-powered traffic beacons, bright flashing LED lights designed to help alert drivers to traffic signage or pedestrian areas.

Installed in a single afternoon, the solar-powered flashing beacons required no trenching or digging, resulting in almost no disruption to business at the busy seaside supermarket. An environmentally friendly choice, the solar-powered beacons are powered solely by the sun, helping to enhance safety without contributing to overall energy consumption at the facility.

Carmanah, a world leader in solar LED lighting technologies, has developed integrated systems for a wide range of commercial applications. “The capabilities and cost-effectiveness of solar power provision in urban and rural areas open up a whole new range of possibilities,” said Michelle Walsh, Marketing Manager for Carmanah Technologies, UK. “A wide range of street furniture and roadside applications can benefit from the supply of cost-effective power using solar energy. Where before, the supply of electricity from the grid could be too difficult and disruptive to access, solar technology makes access to power cost-effective, practical and efficient for everyone.”

Engineered for up to five years of maintenance-free operation, Carmanah’s R247C LED warning beacons flash continuously 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and enhance safety by drawing attention to important signage. Featuring Carmanah’s MICROSOURCE® technology, the R247 LED warning beacons adjust to prevailing environmental conditions, ensuring reliable operation in all weather and solar conditions.
