Carmanah was recently awarded a contract from the City of Compton, California, to provide 32 units of its i-SHELTER™ solar-powered LED lighting systems. This installation of Carmanah’s i-SHELTER™ systems is part of a bus stop improvement program.
The City of Compton, located in the center of Los Angeles County, is a growing U.S. industrial city which is responsible for 25 percent of all U.S. waterborne international trade. With a population of over 100,000 residents, Compton’s public transit service, The Compton Renaissance Transit System, provides daily transit services throughout the City. In order to accommodate thousands of riders and promote ridership safety, the City of Compton recently implemented a bus stop improvement program. Compton chose to include Carmanah’s i-SHELTER™ solar-powered LED lighting system in the program due to its superior quality, high performance illumination levels and vandal-resistant design.
