Carmanah’s Solar Power Systems Group supplied an order to MTN Nigeria, Africa’s leading cellular telecommunications company, for 4 of its proprietary MAPPS modular solar power systems. These systems were installed to power repeater telecom sites in Lagos, Nigeria.

Typically, diesel generators are used to power the repeater sites and they require constant maintenance, incur diesel fuel expenses, and are subject to downtime. To reduce maintenance and fuel costs, as well as reduce emissions and improve reliability, MTN Group elected to install Carmanah’s MAPPS solar power systems.

About Carmanah’s “Turnkey” MAPPS Solar Power Systems

Carmanah’s MAPPS solar power systems are the only complete, stand-alone solar power systems designed specifically for industrial remote applications that can also be approved for Class I, Div II hazardous locations. Thousands of MAPPS systems have been deployed worldwide over the past 15 years. From deserts to mountain tops, MAPPS systems have been field-proven to provide reliable, long-term operation in harsh environments and through extreme temperature changes.

MAPPS systems are designed and supplied as a turnkey, fully-integrated kit. They have been assembled, prewired, and tested at the factory to ensure a successful field installation with minimal technical expertise required. Step-by-step instructions are supplied, ensuring the system setup is simple, fast and cost-effective.
