New crosswalks on College Avenue near Lawrence University are intended to make crossing the busy street safer for pedestrians and students.
After several instances where pedestrians have been struck by vehicles at a dangerous intersection on College Ave, city traffic engineers and Lawrence officials set out to solve the problem. In conjunction with Carmanah Technologies, RRFB systems were put into place on the crosswalk that is constantly busy with Lawrence University students, staff, and faculty. The installation also included higher wattage lighting for increased visibility at night.
