Carmanah Installs First Solar-Powered Ferry Stop

Carmanah's solar-powered i-STOPĀ® technology is finding new uses in a marine environment. Initially designed to illuminate dark bus stops and help waiting passengers signal oncoming buses, the i-STOP will soon be providing a similar service for ferry passengers. The i-STOP solar-powered transit stop provides a flashing signal light, security lighting, and schedule illumination in a durable, attractive, stand-alone device.

Carmanah Supplies Signs to World’s Largest Casino

Carmanah's LED Sign Group has received an order from Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut for 293 table limit signs including 236 side-by-side table limit signs, 17 pairs of digital craps signs, and 40 of Carmanah's new three-line table limit signs. Owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Foxwoods is the largest casino in the world, boasting 340,000 square feet of gaming space in a complex that covers 4.7 million square feet, with a 2 million square-foot addition slated to open in the spring of 2008.

US Air Force Installs Solar-Powered Infrared Airfield Lights

Carmanah's A704-5 solar-powered infrared airfield lights are illuminating "small austere airfields" (SAAF) at an undisclosed US Air Force base. The solar-powered portable airfield lights are being used to enhance airfield safety during covert and overt emergency tactical operations at the remote location.
