Ali Al Salem Air Base Places Additional Taxiway Light Order

The US Air Force has ordered an additional 50 taxiway lights, mounting plates and frangible couplings for permanent installation at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The addition of the Carmanah 601 mounting accessories will allow for a complete mounting system that elevates the lights off of the surface of the taxiway and provides a "breakaway" capability.

Carmanah Solar-powered LED Marine Lights Installed in the Gulf of Thailand

Carmanah is pleased to report that a number of its Model 601 marine lights are installed at Koh Lan Island Resort located of the Pattaya area on the Eastern Seaboard of the Gulf of Thailand. This is a very famous island situated only about 7 miles from the coast of Pattaya Bay. Only 30 years ago, this region was largely jungle with no tourists or boat traffic to speak of.

Carmanah Solar Marine Lights Installed by Colombian Navy

Carmanah is pleased to report that the Colombian Navy, through the Colombian Maritime Authority (DIMAR), has recently acquired 36 Carmanah Model 701 marine lights. These units will be installed in the Channel of Buenaventura, the waterway used by traffic entering into the Port of Buenaventura and considered the most important port on the Pacific Coast of Colombia.

Vietnam Selects Carmanah Solar-Powered LED Lights

In December 2004, Carmanah's Model 601 and 701 solar-powered LED marine lights are to be installed in ferry terminals and around ports in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, to support waterway traffic related to expanding tourism. Ha Long Bay is a part of the Province of Quang Ninh and is located in the northeast corner of Vietnam.

Carmanah “Lights Up” the River Danube with LED Marine Beacons

Carmanah has recently fulfilled an order for 108 marine lights to be installed along the River Danube running through Serbia and Montenegro in Eastern Europe. These units will be used on river banks and on buoys as aids-to-navigation for river vessels. After successful installation on the River Danube, there are further opportunities for marine lighting in surrounding countries, as well as on other rivers in Serbia such as the Sava and Tisa, and even along the Adriatic coast. Current illuminated aids-to-navigation along the riverways in Serbia and Montenegro have been in operation for approximately 40 years.
