The US Air Force has recently ordered an additional 20 units of Carmanah’s Model 702 runway edge light for permanent installation at the Balad Air Base in Iraq. Carmanah has more than 1000 units permanently installed at Balad for fixed wing and rotary aircraft operations carried out by the US Air Force and US Army.

By eliminating infrastructure and maintenance requirements, Carmanah is able to light runways, taxiways, obstructions, helipads, aprons, barricades, thresholds and parking ramps at a fraction of the cost of traditional hardwired systems. Carmanah has more than 7,000 airfield lights in the field, with many installed in the Middle East and SW Asia by the US Air Force, US Army, Marines, National Guard and NATO Coalition Forces.
