BUSINESS: Carmanah Technologies has installed more than 400 units of its Model 601 solar navigation lights in Ha Long Bay and Hai Phong Harbour of Northern Vietnam. The installation is the result of a contract awarded to Carmanah July 12 by the Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration, part of Vietnam’s initial efforts to upgrade the illumination of its waterways.

“Significant opportunities remain for these types of modernization projects in the region,” said Carmanah CEO Art Aylesworth. “This initial contract provides confirmation that the performance, quality and reliability of our products are being recognized internationally.”

Carmanah provided two weeks of comprehensive training at its Canadian manufacturing facilities in Victoria for a delegation of field engineers and managers from VIWA to ensure installation went smoothly. Carmanah specializes in the manufacture of solar Light Emitting Diode lighting solutions for marine, roadway and railway markets.
