Carmanah is pleased to report that the US Army and US Air Force are installing 44 units of the Carmanah Model 702 for helipad edge lighting at the Hospital Zone of the Balad Air Base, Iraq. For this installation, solar-powered green and amber LED edge lights will be used to delineate the perimeter of hospital landing pads for Medivac pilots of the US Army and US Air Force. Additional Carmanah 601 taxiway edge lights will be used for taxiing aircraft and patient transportation. Pilots will benefit from Carmanah’s NVG compatible airfield lighting due to the precise intensity and mono chromaticity characteristics of the LED output.

Carmanah is a major airfield lighting supplier for Balad Air Base in Iraq with more than 1200 units installed for both US Air Force and US Army airfield operations. Applications include helicopter landing zones, runway edge lighting, threshold lighting, taxiway lighting, obstruction lighting and apron edge lighting.
