Carmanah’s Power Systems Group has received an order from an international highway traffic management company for 27 of its Modular Autonomous Photovoltaic Power Supply (MAPPS) systems. These solar power systems will be installed along highways throughout both the Province of Alberta and the State of North Carolina.

Carmanah has been working very closely with the customer since June 2006 to develop fully-customized, turnkey system to be used as stand-alone power for vehicle identification equipment. Each MAPPS system includes a CSA-approved, integrated enclosure and solar engine. They are scheduled for installation by the customer during October and November, 2006.

About Carmanah’s MAPPS Systems

Solar power is a safe and reliable solution to power remote systems, such as the vehicle monitoring equipment mentioned above. Carmanah’s stand-alone MAPPS solar power systems are the only integrated, turnkey systems currently available that have been specifically designed for remote industrial applications. In fact, MAPPS systems can even be approved for Class I, DIV. II hazardous locations.

Thousands of MAPPS stand-alone solar power systems have been deployed worldwide over the past 15 years. They are field-proven to endure the extremely harsh environments found at many remote locations. As MAPPS systems are shipped as complete, easy-to-assemble kits, they can be installed quickly with minimal technical expertise.
