Carmanah has received an order from the US Marine Corps for 24 units of its R247C solar-powered LED flashing beacon. These units will be installed at a forward operating base in the Middle East for vehicle, air traffic and pedestrian operations.
The US Marine Corps required flashing beacons for a forward-operating base to provide safety and cautionary lighting for moving vehicles and air traffic around pedestrian areas. As electrical infrastructure was not available, Carmanah’s R247C solar-powered LED beacon was the ideal technology solution; it is entirely self-contained, compact and autonomous.
