Carmanah has received an order from a leading US security system integrator to supply its proprietary 220-watt MAPPS (Modular Autonomous Photovoltaic Power Supply) system. This system will be installed by the end of October 2005, in the City of Dayton, Oregon to power a water reservoir security system.
The City of Dayton water reservoir is located in a remote area that doesn’t utilize conventional security or lighting solutions. Therefore, to ensure the safety of the public water supply, a remote monitoring system has been installed along with Carmanah’s MAPPS technology to provide reliable power. The Carmanah MAPPS System selected for this installation incorporates two Evergreen 110 watt modules. Evergreen’s EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) and Tedlar™ construction protects the modules’ solar cells from mechanical and environmental stress, while durable anodized aluminum frames makes for strong, stable mechanical mounting.
Carmanah’s MAPPS system is the only complete stand-alone solar electric system available that is specifically designed for remote industrial applications.
