Carmanah is pleased to announce that it has received another order to design and supply remote solar power systems for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Telecom Division.

These systems will enable CHP to update all of its remote telecom sites to digital radio compatibility. The first CHP installation was recently completed on the top of Sweetwater Mountain, near Sacramento, CA. Four additional systems are scheduled for installation over the next 12 months.

With its network of mountain-top repeaters accessible only by helicopter, site reliability is essential to CHP. Carmanah’s proprietary solar power systems are designed and field-proven to endure months of extreme weather conditions while maintaining the critical power needed to keep telecom sites operational. Carmanah’s solar power systems, unlike diesel generators, are also maintenance-free and low cost to operate and environmentally friendly.

Carmanah has more than 20 years of technical experience in the design and supply of solar electric systems for telecommunications applications, including mountain-top repeater sites, microwave relays, and portable radio power systems.
