Carmanah has been contracted by the City of Shoreline, Washington, to supply 12 units of its Model R409 LED edge-lit street-name signs. These signs will be installed along Aurora Avenue between North 155th Street and 165th Street.

Shoreline is the first city in the state of Washington to purchase Carmanah’s LED illuminated street-name signs. These units will be installed as part of the city’s Aurora Corridor Project. The streetscape improvement project will transform the look of Aurora from a 1950’s state highway to a newer and better image of Shoreline.

Carmanah’s LED edge-lit technology, ultra-slim housing design and flexible mounting capablities were key factors in the city’s decision to choose Carmanah’s signage for the project.

The City of Shoreline will also benefit from cost savings by using Carmanah’s energy efficient LED technology. The R409 signs use up to 90% less energy compared to fluorescent bulbs, and are designed to operate maintenance free for up to 50,000 hours – with no bulbs or ballasts to replace.
