Through Carmanah’s authorized distributor in Australia, Orion Solar Solutions, Carmanah is supplying 53 units of its Model 601 solar-powered LED airfield lights to the Southport Flying Club’s Mason Field in Queensland, Australia.

Carmanah’s unique solar-powered LED airfield lights will be used for runway, taxiway and threshold lighting applications at Southport Flying Club, who recently decided to upgrade their airfield lighting when the existing hard-wired lights became unreliable.

Carmanah’s technology was chosen after a successful field trial, where the Company’s lights tested favourably against a competing solar alternative. “The lights are fantastic and we couldn’t be happier with their performance”, stated Flying Club’s President, Mr. Errol Godbold.

Carmanah’s solar-powered LED airfield lights are used by hundreds of commercial and GA airports worldwide. In addition to their proven reliability and durability, the lights offer significant savings over traditional hard wired systems due to their reduced installation, maintenance and energy costs.

With a solid reputation as the solar-powered LED leader, Carmanah has more than 100,000 units installed in 110 countries.
