Carmanah has recently received an additional order from the US Air Force for 171 units of its A702-5 solar-powered LED runway lights. These units are destined for installation at the Baghdad International Airport in Iraq.
More than 1000 units of Carmanah’s solar LED aviation lights are now installed at the Baghdad International Airport. This airport has been using Carmanah’s solar-powered LED airfield lights since the spring of 2003, primarily for taxiway and apron edge lighting, to provide relief for the airport’s overburdened and unreliable electrical grid.
Carmanah’s new A702-5 white runway edge lights are brighter than ever and incorporate a push button manual switch allowing for immediate on/off, battery system check, change in intensity and operation during the daytime for low visibility conditions.
Without the need for wiring, Carmanah’s solar-powered LED aviation lights can be moved and placed at any location requiring taxiway, runway, threshold, obstruction or helipad lighting applications.
Carmanah continues to provide US Defense with all of their solar powered LED lighting solutions for permanent and forward operating base operations. More than 17,000 lights are currently installed with the US Defense alone, savings this organization millions of dollars in up-front capital costs and eliminating electrical, power and significant labor expenses.
