Carmanah is taking its solar lighting technology to the tropics with its latest installation of A601 solar-powered taxiway lights in the Caribbean. Purchased by the Airport Authority of this popular tourist destination in the southern Caribbean Sea, Carmanah’s A601 taxiway lights will help increase nighttime visibility of taxiway areas at the island’s international airport.

Chosen in part for their easy installation, the taxiway lights will be installed using Carmanah’s permanent mounting hardware. Featuring a simple three-bolt mounting system that works in tandem with a mounting plate and frangible coupling or optional stake mounting system, the A601 is easy to install, requiring minimal technical expertise, and no trenching or cabling. As an alternative to a hardwired arrangement, an entire system can be installed quickly and easily, without expensive work crews or airfield closures.

With no connection to the electrical grid, the cost effective operation of a solar-powered solution was also a key factor in the decision to purchase the A601 lights. Requiring no scheduled maintenance for up to five years and no electrical bills ever, Carmanah’s solar taxiway lights are a wise long-term investment that can add dollars to an agency’s bottom line.

Compact and self-contained, Carmanah’s A601 lights are field-proven to endure temperature and environmental extremes, from below-freezing temperatures to humid tropical environments.
