Commuters were recently rewarded with a new way to travel between downtown Clearwater and Oldsmar. The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) has established the new Route 93 with three morning and three afternoon weekday trips. The service begins at Park Street Terminal in Clearwater and travels along Greenwood Ave, Keene Rd/CR 1, and Tampa Rd/584 into the industrial area in Oldsmar. Though the route was designed to serve employees of Nielsen Media Research and neighboring Uniprise in the Forest Lakes/Brooker Creek area, passengers can also transfer to the Route 19 running up and down US 19 and the Route 62 serving McMullen Booth Road and Tyrone Square Mall. Call the InfoLine at (727) 530-9911 to request a Route 93 schedule, or visit www.PSTA.net.

Say goodbye to dark bus stops, say hello to i-STOP™! This new bus stop amenity combines a security light, flashing strobe light to alert approaching bus operators, and some helpful bus riding tips. Right now, PSTA is testing five i-STOP™ units. One is on the Route 60 along Bayview, and four are on Route 19: northbound in front of Cove Cay Condos; northbound in front of Mangrove Bay Office complex; southbound in front of Congo River Golf; and on Hampton south of Drew. More units (18 total) will be installed as PSTA identifies locations in need.

Due to the popularity of the Bikes on Buses program, some passengers have found full bike racks and had to wait for the next bus. That in mind, PSTA is pleased to announce the installation of several three-position racks. The new rack works just like the two-bike version, so no additional training is needed.
