The US Army has placed an additional order for Carmanah’s solar-powered LED aviation lights to be shipped to various locations throughout Iraq for expedited airfield operations.
A total of 62 runway edge lights, 52 runway caution lights, 29 threshold lights, 28 taxiway lights, 12 apron edge lights and 6 obstruction lights were ordered. The runway caution lights, Carmanah’s Model 702C, are a recent addition to the Company’s airfield lighting product line. These units are designed for caution threshold lighting at the end of a 10,000 foot runway. Using a split amber white LED puck, pilots will be able to identify the last 2000′ of the runway under both the naked eye and NVG flying operations.
More than 7,000 Carmanah aviation lights are currently deployed in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and North America for the US Air Force, US Army, US Marines, Air National Guard, Air Reserves and NATO Coalition Forces.
