Auckland International Airport, New Zealand, has ordered an additional 20 units of Carmanah’s solar-powered LED barricade lights for construction projects continuing through to the end of 2004. After a successful testing phase operating 55 units of Carmanah’s self contained taxiway edge lights, Auckland Intl.’s airfield operations turned to Carmanah’s maintenance free, zero infrastructure airfield lighting to meet their barricade lighting requirements as well. The operators will now be able to rely on portable solar-powered LED technology that eliminates the requirement to change batteries or run diesel driven generators in the middle of the airfield.

Auckland adds to Carmanah’s high profile list of international commercial airport customers. Other airports currently using the Company’s permanent and temporary airfield lighting solutions include Chicago O’Hare, Vancouver International, Memphis International, Honolulu International, Zurich International and Dubrovnik International.
