Bagram Air Base has ordered an additional 50 Carmanah Aviation Lights for permanent taxiway edge and runway edge lighting at the main U.S. Army / USAF Air Base in Afghanistan.

Bagram Air Base is completely self sufficient with the use of more than 570 Carmanah Aviation Lights. Carmanah’s solar-powered, maintenance-free LED technology has improved base operations dramatically with base operations stating “the pilots love the lights and we have had no complaints. They work extremely well even with NVGs on. Your lights are all we really have on the runway and taxiways…perfect for this environment where our power is not reliable and failures are common…our runway lights are 100% reliable unlike our commercial or generator power.”

Carmanah provides autonomous lighting solutions to the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army for Middle East operations. To find about more about Carmanah and its aviation technology, please contact Allister Wilmott, the Business Development Manager for Carmanah’s Aviation Division.
