Carmanah has provided 15 EverGEN™ 1520 solar LED lighting systems for the 2010 G8 Leaders Summit. Five units were installed directly at Deerhurst Resort where the Summit is taking place and will stand as a showcase of innovative Canadian environmental technology at this important event.

Installed by Net Electric and purchased through authorized Carmanah lighting agent N. Rutenberg Sales Ltd., the EverGEN systems are part of the Environmental Signature Project associated with the Summit. All 15 units will be deployed to the town of Huntsville for permanent installation in the town.

Since the Carmanah EverGEN solar LED lights function completely free of the electrical grid, they can be easily relocated as required. Offering light output that is equivalent to an AC powered system, the Carmanah EverGEN systems also help to reduce CO2 emissions and can significantly reduce electricity and maintenance costs. In this way, the systems are expected to benefit the town of Huntsville and the Region of Muskoka long after the summit has passed.
