Carmanah has received an order from The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) for a number of its proprietary EXTREME™ 12-volt batteries. These all weather batteries were installed to replace a battery bank for an existing application in Western Canada.

Carmanah’s EXTREME™ batteries are maintenance-free, absorbed glass mat batteries that combine cycling ability with sealed, spill-proof construction. The CSA chose EXTREME™ batteries over competiting brands because of their competitive price and exceptional, proven performance under extreme weather conditions.

Established in 1989, the CSA is responsible for Canada’s space program. The organization leads the development and application of space knowledge for the benefit of Canadians and humanity.

About EXTREME™ All Weather Batteries

Carmanah’s EXTREME™ 12-volt all weather batteries are ideal for telecommunication sites and remote data collection equipment, as well as providing consistent quality power for UPS and SCADA systems, switch gear and other stand-by applications. Field-proven to be exceptionally reliable under harsh conditions, EXTREME™ 12-volt batteries feature a porous envelope to hold the electrolyte against the cell plates so that gases can’t escape. They are excellent performers in both hot and very cold ambient temperatures making them the battery technology of choice by government and industrial users around the world.
