Carmanah’s Solar LED Lighting Group has received an additional order from the US Air Force for 72 taxiway lights and corresponding mounting accessories. These lights are scheduled for installation at a remote training location in the continental United States.
For this particular installation, the US Air Force required taxiway lighting at a remote landing area for covert and overt training operations. There is currently no access to grid power and therefore conventional hardwired taxiway lighting was not a cost-effective option. Carmanah’s solar-powered LED lighting technology was selected as the ideal solution as it is simple to install, completely autonomous, virtually maintenance-free, and has been field-proven to be reliable. This particular airfield is unmanned, so Carmanah’s taxiway lights will activate automatically year-round from dusk till dawn.
