The Mississippi River from Head of Passes (HOP) to New Orleans is open for 24-hour traffic, said Barry Kennedy in a news conference on September 13. From HOP to the Gulf, the channel is clear, but all navigation aids are not in place, so traffic there is limited to the daylight hours. Carmanah Technologies announced that it has diverted all of its inventory and production to the hurricane region, after receiving orders for 500 of its 700 Series marine navigation LED lights. The company has delivered the lights to the U.S. Coast Guard in Mobile, Alabama for distribution to affected areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
