Carmanah Technologies is pleased to announce that it recently received an order for 12 Model A601 (blue) solar-powered LED taxiway lights from Harrisburg International Airport, located outside Harrisburg, PA.

Harrisburg International Airport initially ordered eight Carmanah solar-powered LED obstruction lights early in January of 2005 and they were extremely pleased with both their performance and ease of installation. When it came to filling a need for temporary taxiway lighting, the airport again turned to Carmanah and ordered 12 blue taxiway lights with switches and associated mounting hardware.

Due to an ongoing construction project at the airport, the Carmanah Model A601 taxiway lights will be used in this capacity for approximately one year. Following that, the lights can be used for other temporary or emergency lighting applications due to their ease of installation in virtually any location.

Harrisburg International Airport, located just southeast of Harrisburg, PA, is nearing the completion of a $220 million expansion of both their terminal and runways. In the first 11 months of 2004, over 1.3 million passengers went through Harrisburg International Airport and the numbers continue to increase.
