Today in Vancouver, transit advertising specialist Carmanah Technologies will officially introduce an illuminated advertising panel powered by exposure to sunlight.
Carmanah has been beta testing its i-Panel in Canada and the US recently in partnership with outdoor biggies Clear Channel and CBS Decaux. The company’s light-box technology offers “grid independence with uncompromised brightness, light uniformity, image clarity and reliability,” says its CEO, Art Aylesworth. “When compared to a grid-connected ad panel, the solar-powered i-Panel eliminates approximately 7,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually.”
