Canadian Forces Chooses Carmanah Solar Airfield Lights
Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Wainwright, located in Denwood, Alberta, has selected Carmanah Technologies Corp. (TSX: CMH) to be sole supplier of solar airfield solutions for runway lighting in a transaction valued at over $230,000. Following the lead of CFB Trenton, located in Ontario, CFB Wainwright was experiencing a deteriorating cable issue on its airfield and was faced with the choice to replace the cable or save significant costs in a proven, standalone solar-powered option.
US Marine Corps Selects Carmanah Solar Runway and Taxiway Lights
VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (April 16, 2013) In a public bid worth $175,000, Carmanah Technologies (TSX: CMH) solar airfield products have been selected by the US Marine Corps for deployment in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA). Including Carmanah solar-powered runway edge and threshold lights, taxiway lights and obstruction lights and mounting hardware, the order represents one of many temporary or permanent off-grid airfield deployments employed by US and NATO bases throughout the world.
Upon shipment, the Carmanah A704 wireless runway edge lights, A650 taxiway lights, and A650 obstruction lights are immediately deployable to support humanitarian or military operations in CJTF-HOA.
Carmanah/ADB Supply Emergency Solar Systems to Brazilian Air Force
VICTORIA, BC, CANADA (December 21, 2012) Airfield lighting partners Carmanah Technologies (TSX:CMH), ADB Airfield Solutions and Brazilian distributor AVIEX Importacao have been selected to supply five emergency-deployable, solar-powered airfield and helipad lighting systems to the Brazilian Air Force at a value of over $400,000.
The fully portable lighting systems will be stored at the Brazilian Air Force Command Centre and are designed to be easily deployed at offsite locations as operational requirements change. All systems include durable deployment containers to ensure safe transportation and storage.
US Air Force Base Chooses Carmanah High-Intensity Airfield Lighting
The A704-5 is designed to install easily in a wide variety of locations and comes in a variety of designs including red/green split lens and optional olive drab chassis.
Holloman AFB has selected Carmanah A704-H white approach lights and A704-5 red/green threshold lights to illuminate target areas during pilot air-to-ground range training exercises.
The A704-H solar aviation light was selected for its high intensity output (up to 500 cd) and its proven performance and durability in military airfield installations.
