Carmanah is pleased to report it was recently awarded a four-year contract from Community Transit in Everett, WA to provide its proprietary i-STOP® and i-SHELTER™ solar LED lighting systems as part of the agency’s upgraded stops and amenities program.
Everett’s Community Transit has 259 coaches and approximately 1,600 bus stops that provide service to most of Snohomish County, the University of Washington, Seattle and the Eastside. In 2004, Community Transit provided more than 7.7 million passenger rides. With so many stops being served, cost-effective lighting solutions are needed to ensure safety for the passengers during the night schedule.
Carmanah’s i-STOP® solar LED bus stop provides illumination to the bus stop’s posted schedule, a security area light, and a bus signaling device that alerts drivers that there is a passenger waiting at the stop. The bus signaling device, called the i-SIGNAL™, has a visibility range of change to miles and helps to reduce the number of night-time pass-bys.
