Los Angeles World Airports (LAX) recently acquired two of Carmanah’s solar powered LED i-SHELTER™ lighting systems. These kits will be used to provide travelers and passengers with safe, reliable outdoor lighting at two selected locations.

LAX is one of the world’s busiest international airports, and Carmanah is extremely pleased with the opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of its proprietary i-SHELTER™ solar LED technology. i-SHELTER™ lighting kits use high efficiency solar power, ultra bright LEDs and Carmanah’s industry leading energy management system (MICROSOURCE™ EMS). They provide high performance illumination in a compact, low-profile and aesthetically-pleasing design that is unparalleled.

The i-SHELTER™ lighting systems will be fully integrated into Kaleidoscope® shelters from Landscape Forms Inc. of Kalamazoo, MI. Carmanah’s solar-powered LED systems are completely self-contained, requiring no additional wiring or trenching. Traditional hard-wired shelter lighting systems are often cost prohibitive in locations where power is not easily accessible. Through the use of solar power, these illuminated shelters will be entirely autonomous, reducing the strain on the power grid, and offering an environmentally friendly solution.
