VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA (May 29, 2012) Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX: CMH) and Environmental & Safety Systems International, Incorporated (“ESSI”) have signed a three year Reciprocal Distribution Agreement. Under the agreement, ESSI will distribute Carmanah offshore oil/gas sector marine navigational aids in the continental USA and Carmanah will reciprocate with the distribution of ESSI’s proprietary fog horn, in addition to other products manufactured by ESSI, in Canada and Latin America. By leveraging each company’s strengths, a broader product line will be offered together with skilled technical support to targeted oil/gas markets.

ESSI has a long and successful history of distributing Sabik products to the oil/gas industry. Carmanah and Sabik together serve the marine navigation market branded as Carmanah/Sabik Marine, offering a full suite of aids to navigation (AtoN) with strong distribution in Canada and Latin America. “We immediately saw potential synergy between Carmanah/Sabik Marine’s products and ESSI’s oil/gas products with the goal of becoming strategic partners,” explains Bruce Cousins, Carmanah CEO. “We’re extremely pleased to have translated that early identified synergy into this long term agreement.”

ESSI has more than (20) years of experience as a dedicated manufacturer and supplier of products and services to the oil/gas industry. Kim Adams, ESSI’s president states; “Our depth of knowledge and history of responsiveness in harsh conditions makes it difficult for outside manufacturers to qualify their products for distribution within our product line. Because Carmanah’s products are rugged, reliable, and simple to activate, we believe this addition to our product offering will satisfy our customer requests. We each expect to benefit significantly from the strengths of each other, together expanding the reach and market share of Carmanah/Sabik Marine and ESSI in both new and established markets.”
