Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Monday, April 5, 2004 – Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX Venture: CMH) is pleased to announce that it received the Industry Award for Export Performance at the 2004 GLOBE Awards held in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 2, 2004.
As Canada’s highest profile national environmental awards, the GLOBE Awards are presented by The GLOBE Foundation of Canada and honours Canada’s most influential and respected environmental corporations.
“The Globe Awards could be considered the ‘Oscars’ for Canadian environmental innovation”, states Carmanah’s CEO, Mr. Art Aylesworth. “The Industry Award for Export Performance represents the most significant and prestigious national award received by Carmanah to-date, and all members of our staff are very proud of the achievement.”
Across Canada, eligible corporations were short-listed down to 20 finalists. Six awards were then presented, according to the following environmental categories:

The Awards Panel included some of Canada’s most respected business and environmental leaders: Robert A. Fung, chairman of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation; Patricia McCunn-Miller, former Vice President, Environment and Regulatory Affairs for EnCana Corporation; Ken Ogilvie, Executive Director of Pollution Probe, one of Canada’s most distinguished environmental groups; and Dr. Michael Raymont, Vice-President, Technology and Industry Support, with the National Research Council of Canada.
The GLOBE Awards and Gala dinner capped off GLOBE 2004, which ran from March 31 to April 2, 2004 at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre.
