When the world leaders settle in for the G8 Summit in Georgia, USA in June, they might like to know that some of the security technologies to be used at the event are environmentally responsible.
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Tuesday, May 19, 2004 – Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX Venture: CMH) is pleased to announce that the Company has recently filled an additional priority order of solar-powered marine lights for the US Coast Guard (USCG). These units will be used as part of a USCG’s initiative to secure Georgia’s 160 km coastline, plus portions of neighboring South Carolina and Florida, for the G8 Summit to be held June 8 to 10, 2004.
“Once again, we’re glad to be able to fill this order for an event of such international magnitude on short notice”, states Carmanah’s CEO, Mr. Art Aylesworth. “We appreciate the strong support of the USCG and their ongoing confidence in our products.”
Since 1999, the US Coast Guard has been using Carmanah’s solar-powered LED lights in the U.S. Aids-to-navigation system. Due to their compact design, high performance and reliability, Carmanah’s solar-powered LED lights have become a preferred product with the U.S. army, air force and naval groups.
