VICTORIA – Victoria-based Carmanah Technologies Corp. has won a $1.6-million contract to provide solar-powered lighting for 300 bus shelters in London, England. Carmanah is working with Trueform Group, the British firm contracted to outfit London’s bus shelters with the B.C.-designed solar/LED illumination. Carmanah is an alternative energy manufacturer specializing in patented solar-powered LED lighting solutions for the transit, aviation and marine industries. The company’s self-contained, solar-powered bus shelter lighting system is being marketed abroad.
