Minister Neufeld Tours Carmanah Headquarters

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada – April 8, 2005 – Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX Venture: CMH) was pleased to welcome British Columbia’s Minister of Energy, Honorable Richard Neufeld, and the media, at a press conference held Friday April 8, 2005 at Carmanah’s Victoria headquarters. Minister Neufeld offered opening remarks and joined Carmanah Technologies CEO Art Aylesworth to announce an international contract awarded to Carmanah. The new order is for the Company’s i-SHELTER (TM) solar LED bus shelter lighting systems, which will be installed throughout the Edinburgh public transport network commencing in May 2005.

“I congratulate Carmanah Technologies for their worldwide leadership in developing alternative energy solutions and creating high tech jobs in Victoria,” stated Minister Richard Neufeld, Minster of Energy and Mines. “The BC Energy Plan gave us a path as a province to move forward with sustainable energy production and use, and my visit here today has demonstrated again why we are leaders in this field.”

Following the press conference, Minister Neufeld took part in an exclusive tour of Carmanah’s solar lighting production headquarters, which included a preview of a prototype BC transit shelter.
