VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA(September 7, 2011) Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX: CMH) is pleased to announce that over 300 of its solar-powered A702 infrared (IR) lights are being deployed by the United States Government to undisclosed locations in the Middle East in an order valued at approximately $400,000. The A702 IR lights are primarily used for temporary and permanent runway edge, threshold, obstruction and helipad lighting. Since 1996, Carmanah has deployed thousands of solar LED airfield lights worldwide for public, private and military airfields. Designed to provide airfield lighting that operates independently of grid or generator power, Carmanah solar airfield lights provide reliable illumination that can be quickly and easily deployed.
