Carmanah Provides Stand-Alone Solar Power System for Regulating Pipeline Maintenance

Carmanah's Power Systems Group has supplied Argus Machine Co. Ltd., a Canadian-owned company that provides quality products for the oil and gas industry, with a specialized 50 watt MAPPS modular solar power system. For an 11-week period each Spring, there is a Caribou run in parts of North Alberta.

Carmanah Receives Order from US Air Force for 300 Solar LED Taxiway Lights

Carmanah has received an order from the US Air Force (USAF) for 300 units of its A601 taxiway lights, as well as related A601 stake mounting hardware and bolt kits. These units will be installed at a Forward Operating Base in the Middle East that already uses more than 2500 units of Carmanah's solar LED portable airfield lights. The USAF has been using Carmanah's solar-powered LED aviation lights for Middle East US DOD and Coalition Forces Operations where powered infrastructure is not available or unreliable.

On The Market: Carmanah Unveils Versatile Solar-Powered Airfield Light

Carmanah Technologies Corp. has unveiled the Model A704-5, a versatile solar-powered LED airfield light for permanent, temporary and emergency applications. "This is our first airfield light to include wireless control and our first light to include dual-function infrared and visible-spectrum LED operation," said CEO Art Aylesworth. The new model includes the following features: Improved visibility and safety through the use of brighter LEDs and a new lens design that provides a wider beam angle; a wireless control with Carmanah's water-resistant handheld controller, which allows any single group of lights to be operated remotely from up to 2.5 miles; a connector for a standard external VHF receiver allows it to be configured for pilot-controlled lighting, which allows pilots to turn on airfield lighting for 15-minute intervals by keying a VHF transmitter; operation in both visible and infrared modes. Carmanah Provides Solar Power for Telecom Sites in Nigeria

Carmanah's Solar Power Systems Group supplied an order to MTN Nigeria, Africa's leading cellular telecommunications company, for 4 of its proprietary MAPPS modular solar power systems. These systems were installed to power repeater telecom sites in Lagos, Nigeria. Typically, diesel generators are used to power the repeater sites and they require constant maintenance, incur diesel fuel expenses, and are subject to downtime.

Carmanah Provides US Marine Corps with Solar LED 24-Hour Flashing Beacons

Carmanah has received an order from the US Marine Corps for 24 units of its R247C solar-powered LED flashing beacon. These units will be installed at a forward operating base in the Middle East for vehicle, air traffic and pedestrian operations. The US Marine Corps required flashing beacons for a forward-operating base to provide safety and cautionary lighting for moving vehicles and air traffic around pedestrian areas.

Solar-Powered Lighthouses Illuminate Dark Waterway

The star-filled sky above Lake Havasu in Arizona may be beautiful, but the stars don't provide enough illumination to help boaters safely navigate the lake's curves and bends. Carmanah Awarded Fluorescent Sign Replacement Project in California

These signs will be installed at various intersections in the downtown corridor, as part of The Downtown Roseville Visioning Project that was initiated in 1999.
