Carmanah’s Solar LED Lighting Group has supplied 50 units of it its model R829C compact solar school zone flashers to Rapid City, South Dakota. These flashers were installed in various school zones in Rapid City and were acquired through Carmanah’s Roadways dealer in the Mid-West, Brown Traffic Products.
Rapid City was looking for a cost-effective solution to improve safety at all its school zones in the City. Traditionally, supplying power to a school zone can be a very costly process. After testing two R829C Carmanah units for several months, Rapid City was impressed with Carmanah’s compact design, ease of installation, reliable performance and autonomous operation. After the successful field trial, Rapid City ordered 48 more units.
The hours of operation for all R829C school zone flashers are controlled by Rapid City personnel using Carmanah’s intuitive Windows®-based school zone software.
