Carmanah Receives $200k Contract for Solar Bus Shelters in Edinburgh, Scotland

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada - April 8, 2005 - Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX Venture: CMH) is pleased to announce that the Company's recently opened European office in London, England has received a purchase order in the amount of $200,597 to provide the City of Edinburgh Council with its proprietary i-SHELTER (TM) solar LED (light-emitting diode) bus shelter lighting systems. Carmanah's i-SHELTER (TM) lighting systems will be introduced across the Edinburgh public transport network by Commutaports Ltd., one of the UK-s largest suppliers of passenger shelters and modular covered walkways.

Let There Be LED Light!

The city installed four LED-illuminated street signs, made by Carmanah Technologies Corp. of Victoria. The company says the high-tech, ultra energy-efficient signs should operate maintenance-free for over 50,000 hours.

Carmanah Receives $279,000 in Contracts for Solar-Powered LED Transit Lighting

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada - March 21, 2005 - Carmanah Technologies Corporation (TSX Venture: CMH) is pleased to announce that the Company has received contracts in the amount of $279,000 to supply four US transportation authorities and municipalities on the west coast with i-SHELTER (TM) solar LED shelter lighting systems and i-STOP (TM) solar LED transit stops. According to the California Center for Innovative Transportation (CCIT), in any given year there are nearly 29,000 transit crime incidents reported in the United States, and because the majority of these crimes happen at night, illuminating transit shelters and stops works to discourage many of the common crimes associated with public transport. "The safety of transit passengers is a primary concern for every member of the transit industry," states Art Aylesworth, Carmanah's CEO.

US Army Places Additional Helipad Lighting Order

Carmanah's Aviation Lighting Division has received a recent order from the US Army to supply its solar-powered LED airfield lighting to multiple helipads in the Middle East. The order consists of 128 Model A601 blue lights to guide helicopters while taxiing, 29 Model A601 amber helipad edge lights for touch down, 18 Model A601 red obstruction marking lights and eight units of the Model A702 (white) for approach lighting. In addition to the lights, mounting accessories and hand-held remote programmers will be used to permanently secure the lights to the ground while offering the installer the option to change the lights intensity, check battery levels and change the on/off time.

Harrisburg International Airport Orders Carmanah Lights

Carmanah Technologies is pleased to announce that it recently received an order for 12 Model A601 (blue) solar-powered LED taxiway lights from Harrisburg International Airport, located outside Harrisburg, PA. Harrisburg International Airport initially ordered eight Carmanah solar-powered LED obstruction lights early in January of 2005 and they were extremely pleased with both their performance and ease of installation.

Revenue picture brightens for Carmanah in 2004 Revenues for Carmanah Technologies Corp. (TSX: CMH) in 2004 increased by 72 per cent over the previous year. According to its 2004 financials, the Victoria-based company pulled in close to $16 million compared with $9.2 million in 2003. Carmanah's net earnings last year were $592,823 - up from a loss of $126,394 in 2003. The company credited the increases to higher demand for its products within the aviation and transit markets, which had generated over $7 million for Carmanah. Carmanah develops solar-powered light emitting diodes (LEDs). The company has sold more than 100,000 of its LED lamps in 110 countries..

Carmanah Signs Australian Authorized Distributor For Full Line Of Solar-Powered LED Lights And LED Illuminated Signs
