Greater Toronto International Airport Issues Second Order of Carmanah Aviation Lights

Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) has issued its second order of the Model 601 solar-powered LED aviation lights for maintenance and construction use during the winter months of 2003/2004. This order comes after a successful trial period through the summer months of 2003 for construction lighting on the tarmac of GTAA.

Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan (US Army) Installs Carmanah Aviation Lights

The US Army will be installing 520 Carmanah solar-powered Aviation Lights for permanent airfield lighting at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan to be used for Air Force and Army operations. Model 702 units will be used for runway edge lighting, threshold lighting and obstruction lighting while Model 601 units will be used for taxiway edge lighting, apron edge lighting and construction lighting. The Carmanah lights will be installed during the month of November and will be used to land C-130 carrier planes, fighter jets and helicopters.

Kirkuk USAF Base (Iraq) Orders Taxiway Edge Lights

Lighting up London

VICTORIA - Victoria-based Carmanah Technologies Corp. has won a $1.6-million contract to provide solar-powered lighting for 300 bus shelters in London, England. Carmanah is working with Trueform Group, the British firm contracted to outfit London's bus shelters with the B.C.-designed solar/LED illumination.
